Story:
COFFINS changed the band name from the old band "Compromise you Need" in 1996. This band is formally started as COFFINS by Uchino and Negishi who had aimed at the Heavy Junk sound influenced by Swans and Scorn in the beginning of start. After carrying out a member change several times, You will join the band as drummer in 1999. The band direction was also gradually concentrated to Doom Rock sounds like Cathedral and Kyuss. They had piled up the rehearsal without doing live for a while, but, as each member began activity on other bands, COFFINS will once stop activity after all around 2000.
COFFINS was re-starting in 2003 changing to the dark Doom Death sound used as Celtic Frost / Hellhammer, Winter and Divine Eve as base, which is also was the Uchino influences. In connection with it, Uchino and You left the other band which were being played together in order to focused on COFFINS, The band also replaced other members and Sentou join COFFINS as new bassist making the current line up.
COFFINS released their first demo in December 2003 and their independent live plan "Oppression Freedom Oppression" in May 2004. COFFINS released officially their demo remastered with bonus tracks under the name of "Sacrifice to Evil Spirit" thru the spanish label Living Dead Society and their first album "Mortuary in Darkness" thru the U.S. label Razorback Records, both in 2005. COFFINS perform the live energetically including the tour in the west Japan and offering tour support of overseas bands centering on Tokyo. Sentou left from COFFINS by musical differences in December 2005. Koreeda (Trikorona / ex-Curtain Rail) joined the band as bassist in 2006. COFFINS second album "The Other Side of Blasphemy" was released thru the german label Imperium Productions on Europe and thru the U.S. label 20 Buck Spin on America in September 2006.
